Product Manager
AuCom Electronics is a privately owned New Zealand company with a proud history and culture of innovation and excellence. We are known for our flexibility and engineering skill, and are recognised as the world’s leading specialist in soft starter technology. We design products from 1 kW to over 2 MW and export to 60 countries.
We are looking for a Product Manager who will be responsible for managing product development and support of existing products.
Key tasks:

Product life cycle management: monitor market and technology trends, research new product/feature ideas
-
Development of the product brief, pricing, business case, coordinate forecasts
-
Technical assistance for sales/marketing materials
-
Pre-release: administration of product BOMs, spare parts
-
Testing: Conduct acceptance testing and organise field trials
-
Manuals: Preparation of manuals and technical literature with the technical writing team
-
Post-release: solve larger product issues, support sales training
The successful applicant will have:
-
5+ years product management experience
-
Tertiary Technical qualification
-
Sound understanding of customer, sales and marketing needs
-
Excellent communication skills

International Business Development Manager
AuCom Electronics is a world leader in the design and manufacture of soft starters for small distributors and large multinational companies worldwide. We are now looking for a talented Business Development Manager to support and encourage growth help support for our leading edge industrial electronic products. This position is based at our Head Office in Christchurch, New Zealand, but involves frequent international travel.
The Business Development manager will be responsible for:

Growing market share via new and existing distribution channels

Managing key accounts (contract and price negotiation, problem resolution)

Working with Marketing to execute promotion and sales objectives
-
Providing ideas to Product Managers for new product development
-
Provide sales and product training
The successful applicant will have:

5 years + sales experience in industrial products
-
2 years + experience in business strategy
-
Tertiary qualification in electrical technology, or equivalent is preferred but not essential
-
Experience in negotiation, international business • Soft starter experience is preferred, but not required
-
Proficiency in MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

Summer internships
