Quality Manager

At AuCom we are continually striving to grow our business and maintain our position as a center of excellence.  This requires a focus on innovation, increasing productivity, managing costs and satisfying customer requirements.  This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining a strategic quality management framework, and will require an energetic quality professional who can proactively influence leaders and managers across the business including:

  • development and delivery of the quality management system;
  • driving a culture of continuous improvement  with the application of Lean principles;
  • working directly with customers and suppliers to set and manage quality standards;
  • managing an effective audit and improvement programme;
  • providing coaching and training; and
  • managing a small team to achieve results.
  • To be successful in this role you will have:

  • significant experience in a Quality Management role in a manufacturing or similar environment, leading quality initiatives;
  • demonstrated understanding of continuous improvement and Lean principles;
  • knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and their application;
  • a tertiary qualification in a relevant technical discipline;
  • compelling leadership and influencing skills;
  • demonstrated analytical aptitude, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills; and
  • the ability to build relationships and motivate people to get things done.

    Electrical Design Engineer

    The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing standard series LV products and customised MV motor control centres to customer specifications.

    This involves:

  • designing reliable electrical systems and solutions for soft starter products
  • provide input into alternative designs including researching and assessing component and design ideas
  • involvement in the preparation of electrical prototypes including test jig specifications
  • integration of electrical assemblies into low and medium voltage enclosures
  • performance testing and evaluation
  •  preparing product manufacturing documentation
  • providing customer applications support as required, including site problem analysis and review.
  • You will have:

  • a tertiary electrical qualification and a minimum of 5 years experience in design in an electrical environment
  • the ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary project teams, providing leadership on technical design and direction
  • experience with medium voltage insulation systems is desirable
  • personal drive and proven ability to achieve set targets
  • open to mentoring support from a highly talented Technology Research Manager colleague.
