Engineering Manager

We are now looking for a talented Engineering Manager to help support the growing demand in our team for our leading edge medium voltage products. This position is based at AuCom in Shanghai with support from AuCom Industrial Solutions in Christchurch, New Zealand.
This person will report to the CEO of AuCom China and be an integral part of the China Senior Management Team.
The Engineering Manager will be responsible for:

Working directly with Design Institute Engineers, Customers, Sales Reps and Distributors, to provide engineering support and training

Good oral presentation of technical information at all levels

Written communication of technical details through service and technical bulletins

Travel in China will be required for sales support, training presentations, and product related issues.

Having good communications with AuCom NZ on product application and technical issues.
-
Maintain proper projects records, technical library and back up documentation.

Self-motivation to work independently and to obtain hands-on product experience
The successful applicant will have:
-
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical/ Electronics) or demonstrable related engineering or technical experience.

A minimum of 5 years’ experience.

Understanding of the Electrical/Electronics technical support field.

Must have strong computer skills with Microsoft applications; i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.

Understanding of power electronics.

Motor application analysis of asynchronous and synchronous motors
-
An appreciation of 3D modeling and electrical schematics.
-
An appreciation of Medium Voltage (MV) switchboard manufacturing up to 36kV.
-
A good understanding of MV apparatus such as vacuum contactors, circuit breakers, protection relays, isolators etc.

The ability to provide integrated MV apparatus solutions.

A commercial approach to solution designing to cost.

Position requires flexibility to be a good team player, and the self-motivation to work independently and to obtain hands-on product experience

Fluency in Chinese and English both in written and spoken is essential, as good communication with AuCom NZ is essential.

The ability to travel internationally; and to stay in NZ for a minimum of 3 months for initial training.

Summer internships
