AuCom Soft Starters Extend Generator Life.

Nanjing Jiu Shi Wei Environment Science and Technology recycles and processes solid industrial waste such as pulverized coal ash, phosphorus and gypsum, and participates in the "circulatory economy" project developed by the environmental protection bureau in Jiangsu Province.  The limited power supply in the area means that the firm relies on diesel motors and star delta starters for its manufacturing lines. 

Given the size of the equipment, the start current is large and the generator set voltage often fluctuates during starting, which causes disturbances to other equipment.

Since installing AuCom soft starters, the generators have been much more reliable, which significantly prolongs the lifespan of the generator and other equipment.

• Power supply shortage.  Starting one of the large revolving dryers caused a sharp drop in the generator voltage and interrupted the operation of other equipment.  AuCom soft starters have resolved this, improving overall operating efficiency.  Another advantage of AuCom soft starters is their wide voltage range, which means that the soft starter continues to operate safely even if the voltage fluctuates for some other reason
• The revolving dryers also suffered from rubbing starts, which can be avoided by lengthening the start time with timed voltage ramp soft starting.
• Controlled starting and stopping significantly reduces the electrical and mechanical strain on equipment throughout the plant, which has significantly reduced maintenance requirements and extended the equipment lifespan.
