Pumping Case Study: Ankara Emergency Water SupplyAuCom has helped restore the water supply for Turkey's capital city, Ankara by providing a soft starter solution in less than a third the normal manufacturing time. Ankara's water system, severely stressed by drought, was running very low and despite heavy restrictions on water use, was not able to cope with demand. The city's administration implemented a major initiative involving the creation of new infrastructure to support an emergency water supply from the River Kizilirmak to the Ankara's five million residents. AuCom supplied 60 medium voltage soft starters to ensure a secure and reliable pumping solution to five new pump stations installed along a 130 kilometre pipeline, delivering 750 kLt of water per day to the city.
