On Saturday, May 11th 2024, AuCom's New Zealand team supported the Forest and Bird Society of North Canterbury in Ferrymead, Christchurch, as part of the annual Mother of All Clean-Ups initiative, a longstanding conservation initiative spanning 11 years.
The event was arranged by AuCom's NZ Environmental Committee, a dedicated group focused on enhancing AuCom's sustainability efforts both internally and externally.
Covering the estuary's expanse from the golf course to the tide mark, the team diligently collected various debris, including polystyrene, discarded bottles, and miscellaneous items. Some members demonstrated exceptional dedication, navigating challenging terrain to ensure a thorough cleanup.
Post-event, the team convened at a local establishment, to unwind and enjoy a well-deserved meal, fostering camaraderie and reflection on their collective achievement.
