Accountant

About the role

We're looking for an Accountant to assist with the year-end financial statements and audit, and to support our finance team. While this is a 6-month fixed term position, there is potential for it to become a permanent role for the right candidate. The anticipated start date is mid-January 2026, with flexibility available.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly and annual financial reporting, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Maintain accurate records for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Asset Register and the General Ledger
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and month-end review processes
• Liaise with external auditors
• Conduct cost reviews and analysis
• Provide backup support to other finance team members
  
  

About you

We're looking for an Accountant with:

• A minimum of 2-3-years' experience in operations or management accounting, ideally in manufacturing, logistics, or transport
• A Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) with a major in Accounting & Chartered Accountant (CA) (preferred)
• Strong understanding of Payroll, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable functions
• Proficiency in ERP systems
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience in financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
• Audit experience (advantage but not mandatory)
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills

This role is based at our Christchurch site in Addington. You must be in New Zealand and hold a current work visa/residency or NZ citizenship.
