About the role
We're looking for a highly motivated NPI Engineer to join our team and provide additional support as we continue to grow. In this role you will work alongside the current team to manage the introduction of new products, and changes to existing products, into the manufacturing facility to ensure operational success.
Key Responsibilities
- Successfully manage multiple projects across different teams
- Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, assembly methods, tooling and production equipment
- Optimize production lines using Lean Manufacturing methods
- Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods
- Manage / lead the generation of new and changes to assembly and test instructions
- Support, facilitate and complete the closure of non-conformance reports
- Manage / lead pre-production builds verifying all business processes are tested and taking ownership for identification and resolution of issues.
About you
We're looking for an NPI Engineer with:
- A Tertiary qualification in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electronics or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years direct experience in electronics manufacturing with sound knowledge and understanding of PCB assembly (SMT, PTH)
- Great understanding of the development process
- Excellent time management skills to manage multiple projects across different functions focusing on delivery
- Project management abilities
- Technical product support experience (at least 2 years)
- Good understanding of bill of materials
- Knowledge of supply chain process
- Strong problem-solving skills
