About the role

We’re looking for a Production Engineer to join our existing team.  Operating within the Production Engineering team the role will support and improve the quality of AuCom’s manufacturing processes.   

In this role, you will:

  • You will be responsible for ensuring all systems are compliant and delivering the required outcomes. 
  • You’ll drive a culture of continuous improvement in a manner that enhances engagement while holding people to account, identifying opportunities for improvement and enhanced delivery. 
  • You will investigate and report on safety and quality incidents, identifying root cause and recommending and ensuring improvements are implemented. 
  • This role is a key liaison with the client regarding quality matters.

About you

We’re looking for:

  • A Degree or equivalent experience in Quality Management
  • In-depth knowledge of AS/NZS9001, AS/NZ45001, AS/NZ14001
  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar position, with experience in auditing ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles, methodologies and tools such as ISO Standards, Lean Six Sigma and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading quality improvement projects and initiatives, including change management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Leadership abilities with the capability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve quality objectives and drive continuous improvement.

Production Engineer

About the role

We’re looking for a Production Engineer to join our existing team.  Operating within the Production Engineering team the role will support and improve the quality of AuCom’s manufacturing processes.   

In this role, you will:

  • Develop equipment and processes and introduce new manufacturing technologies.
  • Advise the Engineering Development teams regarding manufacturability. 
  • Actively manage key quality elements, lead root cause analysis and corrective actions, and ensure manufactured products meet required efficiency and yield standards.
  • Create work instructions, best practice guidelines or process standardisation documents, and provide training for the operation and maintenance of production equipment.
  • Participate in the production engineering call-out roster.

About you

We’re looking for an experienced Production Engineer with:

  • A tertiary qualification, preferably in engineering including process, electronics, mechanical, technology, computer systems and quality systems.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing philosophies and best practices, and 8D problem-solving methodology.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably high-mix automated and manual assembly production), and experience providing first-level support.
  • Previous experience with research, selection, commissioning, training, and support for one or more significant pieces of manufacturing equipment.
  • Proven ability to use scientific and professional approaches when completing tasks, and to identify and resolve problems with complex manufacturing processes.
  • Competent in computer applications, including MS Office, ERP, CAD, scripting, and database knowledge.
  • Understanding of statistical process control, including process capability calculations, and failure mode and effect analysis.
